Earlier, Dr. Umar Ardo paid $15,000 in bitcoin in order to rescue her daughter from kidnappers. But now months after Dr. Umar Ardo paid the ransom to kidnappers, Nigeria police force has got a lead in the case.
According to the daily post report, Abubakari, who is currently in the Police custody, made a useful confession that is helping to crack the high profile bitcoin kidnapping case. FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, said the suspect was part of a syndicate.
He added that Sequel to the ongoing investigation into a reported kidnap incident at Asokoro on 14th September 2019, Police detectives from the Command Anti-Kidnapping Squad had arrested one Saadu Abubakari’m’ 23 years in connection with the incident.
In recent times there have been several kidnapping in the country where the kidnappers have asked for the ransom in bitcoins as it makes tracking the transaction challenging for the authorities.
