According to the Press Trust of India report, the Indian government is planning to leverage blockchain technology to improve government schools. The country has been utilizing blockchain technology in other sectors as well, which has resulted in more jobs and internships in Hyderabad and other cities in India.
Blockchain brings transparency.
Telecom and IT minister of India, Ravi Shankar, while speaking at the inauguration of the Center of Excellence [CoE] in Blockchain Technology in Bengaluru, said, that he is very keen how they can leverage blockchain technology in primary education. He said that he would like yo give NIC team a task to think of a good application of blockchain for improving the quality of government schools all over the country.
The growing number of startups.
Even though India is facing an economic slowdown, the IT minister said that India is home to nearly 26,000 startups, of which 9,000 are tech startups. He added that NIC could become a big patron of the startup movement. He also recommended center and state governments to open doors for innovation. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) is a government entity that has partnered with the CoE to provide support for blockchain innovation in the country. The technology is also being used in other sectors as well.
